Eastern Safety Services offer the OHS Committee, WHS Representative and Designate Certification Training Standard. This course has been revised effectively July 1, 2023 into the following:
- Level 1 OHS Committee, WHS Representative and Designate course (8-hour) for organizations with less than 10 workers at a workplace.
- Level 2 OHS Committee Member course (8-hour) for organizations with 10 or more workers at a workplace. If you require the Level 2, you will attend the first day, which is Level 1 and then complete the second day which is Level 2.
- NOTE: If you already have a Level 1 certificate, then only the second day (Level 2) is required.
This training is intended for new members of Occupational Health and Safety Committees as defined under the Workplace Health and Safety Regulations. If you are not sure which course you require, please call or email us.
OH&S Committees and WHSR/Ds play a vital role in ensuring a healthy and safe workplace for everyone. These individuals help identify and address health and safety issues in the workplace and help to prevent incidents before they happen. Therefore, it is important that they receive training so that they are aware of their responsibilities and stay current with legislation.
Committees/Representatives/Designates must renew their OH&S Committee training every three (3) years from the date of their certification. This is a reasonable timeframe in order to stay current with legislation and trends in health and safety.
Eastern Safety Services are conducting this training which is available province-wide. Please call our office at 709-757-7111 for more information or to book a class.
