Wilderness First Aid – Advanced
This 36–40 hour Wilderness First Aid – Advanced course provides comprehensive training for managing medical emergencies in remote and austere environments with prolonged delays to definitive care. Designed for professionals and experienced outdoor leaders, the course focuses on advanced patient assessment, extended care, environmental and trauma management, and critical decision-making. Through intensive, scenario-based training, participants develop the skills and confidence to manage complex situations, coordinate evacuations, and provide ongoing care until advanced medical support is available.
36 – 40 hour
For individuals who work as part of a formal rescue and response system, typically having a duty to act as a member of a team.
Rescuers who specialize in decision-making, extrication, and transport.
Challenging environments with diverse terrain and varying risk levels, requiring coordinated team response in specific roles where survival conditions may be at risk.
Targeted rescue or groups requiring more advanced skills
Urgent evacuation and extended care (5+ days) as required.
Participants will develop strong leadership skills, understand their responsibility to provide care, effectively use professional tools and resources, and make informed decisions regarding extrication and rescue in challenging environments.
