First Aid for Firefighters with BLS – Now Available

Our new First Aid for Firefighters with Basic Life Support (BLS) program is a comprehensive 2.5-day training course designed specifically for the unique demands of fire service personnel. Participants will learn to quickly identify and respond to life-threatening emergencies while awaiting medical assistance, with a strong emphasis on hands-on, practical skills that mirror real-world scenarios.

This specialized program focuses on preventing emergencies and reacting confidently when they occur. Training components include:

  • Oxygen administration

  • Airway management

  • Spinal immobilization

  • CPR & AED use

  • Scene safety and rapid patient assessment

Upon successful completion, participants will also receive a WorkplaceNL Intermediate First Aid certificate, providing them with dual recognition for both firefighter-focused training and provincial workplace standards.

This course is offered at our training centres, through scheduled public sessions, or onsite for private group bookings anywhere across Newfoundland and Labrador.
